An health & safety organisation innovating through video
The Organisme Professionnel de Prévention du BTP consists of prevention experts who collaborate daily with professionals and stakeholders in the building and civil engineering sectors. Their mission is to advance practices that enhance the health and safety of those working in these industries, focusing on three key areas: advice, information, and training. This comprehensive approach plays a crucial role in preventing work-related accidents and illnesses.
Context
Early on, OPPBTP understood the importance of video. Before Quentin Beauchene arrived, it already possessed an audiovisual team with a director and several service providers available to help out on such media projects. They therefore had no issues when it came to quality, and demand was still limited enough (in quantity) for such a system to suffice.
However, with the emergence of e-learning came the need to create a much greater volume of educational videos. Using the audiovisual team or outsourcing represented a significant investment of time and energy, since the traditional production chain often requires detailed planning, filming and post-production. It would take up the team’s entire schedule, with a long process between the initial idea and the finished product.
OPPBTP had researched and considered other solutions, such as drag-and-drop video creation applications (e.g. Pitchy) or simply using a smartphone, but they didn’t meet OPPBTP’s specific needs.
It didn’t just want to create content for communication purposes, but also content for comprehensive training courses, which can be quite long and complex.
Rapidmooc solution
As video increasingly became the dominant format across all sectors, so did the demand to produce more films. In addition to the training department, both the continuing education and human resources departments also started to appreciate the benefits video could offer. But how do you find a video creation solution that caters to such a wide range of users and needs, rather than them having adapt to a solution?
This was precisely the challenge Quentin Beauchene faced when he joined the OPPBTP team. With a career rooted in Digital Learning and a focus on educational innovation, Quentin had already encountered Rapidmooc in a previous role. Given the production ambitions and logistical constraints, the all-in-one studio seemed like the perfect solution.
While the company’s national committee is headquartered near Paris, most employees are actually based in a dozen agencies across France: 385 employees trained in-house and 10,000 young people undergoing initial training. Initially, the most compact model — the Rapidmooc Go — was considered for its mobile nature. However, it was the larger Pro +43’’ video studio that ultimately found its home in a dedicated recording room. Recently, this setup was moved to a larger, fully-equipped meeting room to enhance the user experience (and spark curiosity among potential users!). An entire wall has even been outfitted with a green screen to maximise the possibilities for overlay effects using the studio’s advanced recording mode.

Benefits
Originally used to record training videos, the Rapidmooc studio also serves to create promotional and internal communication videos
Unlimited number of recordings
Videos ready instantly
Easy to use
Reassuring support
Even though the video studio can be used with no outside assistance, users appreciate the help the team provides every step of the way. First, they receive training on the studio’s functions, followed by a workshop on how to create overlays. If needed, Quentin’s team is always available to answer questions or assist with recordings.
For instance, they offer tips and tricks to less experienced users on posture, gestures and other elements to make their videos more engaging. A key advantage of the video studio is the ability to record and instantly review the results, allowing users to assess their performance and re-record as often as needed to incorporate improvements.

Next steps
The aim is to continue using it as much as possible as the demand for video increases. Moreover, a new POC has made the team more avant-gardist, with innovative ideas that met widespread approval, and an ever-large audience!
Now that users have become more proficient with the green screen, its time to make use of all the studio’s other features, including different recording modes to avoid videos being too ‘lecture-like’. Why only speak in front of your content when you can interact with it?
The future of the set-up will see a shift away from the traditional top-down e-learning model towards a more creative, detailed and modern storytelling approach. The Rapidmooc studio will empower users to unleash their imagination and craft increasingly inventive scenarios!
